I recently returned to Bahrain from Amman, Jordan where I had an outstanding internet connection. I asked around here in Manama for some guidance in choosing the best ISP in town. Before leaving Manama in 2003 I used Batelco and it was quite good, but I was told that Batelco has been deteriorating lately, and a number of friends recommended I use ?Menatelecom?. I did, and I subscribed for a 2 Mbs and a VoIP phone. But I have been having a lot of trouble with the ?Download speed? to the extent that even their own VoIP line is choppy, and I have called them on a number of occasions and each time I?m given a ticket number and nothing happens, the last time my wife called to complain, the responder told her that the connection is perfect and that we are very lucky!!! I have had enough and would like to find some other provider that is better, any advice?!!
My last test showed:
? Ping speed of 111 ms
? Download speed of 1.53 Mbs
? Upload speed of 0.16 Mbs
